Colorado Blues Society

Representing Colorado in the 2013 International Blues Challenge are:
Band:
Dan Treanor
3rd Place at the 2013 International Blues Challenge! Congratulations Dan, Erica, Michael, Mike, and Gary!
We are proud of all of our performers at the IBC! See videos and photos!

Dan Treanor's Afrosippi Band featuring Erica Brown deliver an incendiary mixture of Blues, Roots and Soul. Showcasing Ms. Brown's powerhouse, emotionally charged vocals and Treanor's African based grooves and searing harp, the band covers a wide swath of the Blues landscape. From a down home Field Hollar to a 'smooth as silk' ballad, the Afrosippians light up the stage with their passion and musicianship. Michael Hossler - guitar, Mike Wysocki - bass and Gary LaDuke - drums are consummate pros that bring a remarkable blues based vibe to each song. Treanor (KBA recipient) and Brown are veteran entertainers and their electrifying stage show reflects this. This act is all about blues, class and soul. Website:http://www.dantreanorband.com
Solo/Duo:
Jack Yoder
Jack Yoder
Jack Yoder began playing guitar when he was 14. Cutting a piece of copper pipe to emulate the sounds he heard from the greats like Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson and Skip James. He grew up and traveled and learned from some of the greatest unknown (unrecognized) blues players from all over the U.S. New Orleans became his spiritual home where he considers himself as having walked in a guitarist and walked out a musician. It was in The Crescent City that he began seriously crafting his own voice and performed regularly as a solo act. Jack now makes his home in Golden,CO where he plays solo shows and also fronts the band, Jack Yoder & The 2 Piece Suit. He is proud and honored to represent the Colorado Blues Society.

From Jack: “We're very pleased to announce that we're now available on iTunes and Amazon. Through these outlets we're finding an unexpected interest coming from Europe. And as with all our sales, 50% of the NET profit from ALL CD sales and downloads will be donated to charity. We're extremely close to covering our initial startup costs so very soon we will be in turning that profit into something good. For now, our donations will be made on a quarterly basis. We will be making the charity announcements on Facebook as well as our recently redesigned website. www.jackyoder.com where you can also keep up with our upcoming dates.
We're also proud to announce that we've been in the top 25 at www.bluesdebut.com/t25week/ for a month and a half now. We could use all the support and attention we can get from the Colorado scene to keep our momentum going. While in Memphis I will be updating the status on my Facebook www.facebook.com/jackyoderblues page on a regular basis, so stay tuned!”

Youth Showcase:
 JT and the Thunderbolts
JT and the Thunderbolts
Formed just a year ago in Fort Collins, JT & The Thunderbolts has made an impression in the Colorado Blues scene. Jake Ellingson, vocalist and songwriter, started playing guitar at the age of 13 with one goal in mind, to one day play on Beale Street. Jake, now at the age of 15, plays from the soul and has made a name for himself in Blues Jams and Festivals in Colorado. Backed by a tight rhythm section consisting of Mitch Meyer, 18, on drums, and Danny Steiner, 17, on bass. JT and the boys drive home electrifying blues and solos, influenced by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and The Allman Brothers. The boys are proud to represent The Colorado Blues Society at the 2013 IBC Youth Showcase.
